FanDuel is now an official sportsbook partner and exclusive US in-app streaming partner of the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
FanDuel is the first sportsbook to become an official PWHL partner. It joins the ranks of companies such as Barbie, CCM, EA Sports, Gatorade, and Hyundai.
Dale Hooper, FanDuel Canada’s general manager, said in a statement that the company hopes the move will boost fan participation.
“FanDuel is proud to partner with the PWHL and support the league’s incredible athletes,” Hooper said. “This partnership is about creating a new era of fan engagement — one that brings hockey closer to fans while helping grow the visibility of women’s professional sports.”
How the FanDuel-PWHL partnership affects sports bettors
With FanDuel as the PWHL’s sportsbook partner, bettors will receive a considerably improved betting product for a league they might not otherwise have been interested in.
For example, bettors now get the following features from FanDuel’s online platforms:
- Streams of up to 90 regular season games and playoff matchups
- Prop bets, novelty markets and same-game parlays for PWHL games
The PWHL is a six-team league, with two of its three teams based in states with legal sports betting: the Boston Fleet and New York Sirens. All three of the league’s Canadian teams — the Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres — are based in provinces with legal sports betting.
On the FanDuel side, adding the PWHL to its list of partners could attract more bettors to its platforms in New York and Boston.
Additionally, the PWHL becomes the third women’s league FanDuel has partnered with. The sportsbook also has deals with the WNBA and Women’s Tennis Association.
