FanDuel Adds Streaming NFL Video to Sportsbook With BetVision

FanDuel Sportsbook patrons will be able to watch streaming video of NFL games they’re betting on as the mobile sportsbook adds Genius Sports’ BetVision service.

FanDuel joins Caesars, Fanatics, and BetRivers in offering the new technology, which is seen as a way for bettors to avoid the types of television lags that often make for canceled bets and frustration.

“With heightened demand for greater personalization and interactivity, BetVision revolutionizes the live betting experience for FanDuel’s customers by helping to drive fan engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.” –  Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports.

Genius Sports will continue to supply FanDuel with the NFL‘s proprietary Next Gen Stats and the league’s official sports betting data feed as the exclusive supplier of official league data.

How BetVision Works Inside FanDuel’s Mobile App

Bettors will not have access to every game. Select games will be made available each week. These streams will include live stat-tracking.

According to a Genius Sports release, future additions to the service will include:

  • Integrated betting odds
  • In-game betting alerts
  • Data-driven augmentations
  • The ability to place live bets within the video player

Genius Sports contends in the release that BetVision has “been shown to increase in-game wagers, customer engagement and drive retention while providing sportsbook customers with unique personalization options,” all of which is pleasing to the NFL. It, like other professional sports leagues, has attempted to wield legal sports betting as an engagement tool and new revenue stream since the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act made that a possibility in 2018.

According to a Genius Sports report, since the inception of BetVision:

  • 54% of bets by streamers on the system were in-play
  • 83% of handle from streamers was in-play
  • There has been a 121% in-play handle growth from streamers since Week 1
  • There has been an 87% increase in total handle per streamer since Week 1.

“As an Official Sports Betting Partner of the National Football League, we’re continuing to look for ways to elevate the betting experience on our platform for fans during every game,” said Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer, FanDuel. “Partnering with Genius will allow us to pair our industry-leading product with access to BetVision to build a seamless live betting experience for fans.”
