Masters Props 2024: Best Bets Feature Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler

There is plenty of Masters betting action beyond wagering on the winner of the tournament. Masters odds offer prop bets, providing opportunities to wager on different aspects of the year’s first major tournament.

Scottie Scheffler (+400, at DraftKings), Rory McIlroy (+1100), and Jon Rahm (+1200) and the top three favorites to win the Masters, which will be held April 11 to 14. Players consider the Masters the easiest of the four majors to win, because of a reduced field and familiarity of the golf course. This year, 89 players are scheduled to tee it up Thursday. The other 2023 majors had 156 players.

There are some interesting Masters props that go beyond who wins the tournament. Prop bets can give bettors action on each day of the tournament, including the margin of victory. And including the most intriguing: Can Tiger Woods make the cut?

Tiger Seeks Record

Woods is after a Masters record this week — the most consecutive cuts made. He sits at 23, tied with Gary Player and Fred Couples. Woods limped around Augusta National last year and made the cut on the number.

BetRivers, and other sportsbooks, are offering odds on whether Tiger makes (+100) or misses the cut (-137).

The second-longest current cut streak? Adam Scott, the 2013 champion, has 14 consecutive cuts made.

Tiger’s Odds to Win

FanDuel has Tiger at +2500 to win the Masters. BetRivers has Tiger at +2800 to finish in the top 5; +1000 to finish in the top 10; and +335 to finish in the top 20. Tiger’s world golf ranking is 959.

At a news conference at Augusta on Tuesday, Woods said he thinks he can win another Masters: “If everything comes together, I think I can get one more.”

Tiger’s odds before his first Masters as a professional in 1996 was +650. His world golf ranking was 611. He missed the cut after shooting a pair of 75s for a 6-over-par total of 150. It was Woods’ only missed cut in 25 appearances. He won the first of his five Green Jackets the next year.

The 1996 Masters, famously, was won by Nick Faldo, who overcame a final-day, six-stroke deficit to Greg Norman.

One Final Name to Consider

Hideki Matsuyama won the 2021 Masters. His odds to win the Masters are +4100, a good price for a player still in his prime.

Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational in February at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, a major-worthy course. He has continued his strong play since.

  • Arnold Palmer Invitational: T12
  • Players Championship: T6
  • Valero Texas Open: T4

Before winning the Genesis, Matsuyama had a tie for 22nd at the Phoenix Open and a tie for 30th at the Sony Open in Honolulu. That’s a terrific season in his nine PGA Tour starts.

His Masters’ record also is outstanding. He has played the Masters 12 times, with eight top-20 finishes. He finished tied for 16th last year.
