Adding another fearsome pass rusher in Von Miller, the Los Angeles Rams saw their odds to win Super Bowl LVI shorten throughout the betting market after news of the trade with the Broncos broke Monday.
Here’s how the Rams’ Super Bowl futures odds were adjusted at four sportsbooks since last week.
| Sportsbook | Rams' Super Bowl odds last week | Odds after Von Miller trade |
|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | +800 | +650 |
| WynnBET | +750 | +600 |
| South Point | +700 | +600 |
| SuperBook USA | +700 | +600 |
Also influenced by their Week 8 loss to the Saints, the Bucs are no longer the lone favorites in the NFC. DraftKings lists both the Rams and Bucs at +350 to win the conference and +650 to lift the Lombardi Trophy in February, and the SuperBook offers +350 and +600 on both teams in those respective markets.
WynnBET moved the Rams from +400 to +300 to win the NFC and from +135 to -110 to finish atop the NFC West, Jake Meister, a spokesperson from the sportsbook, said in an email to Gaming Today.
The trade for Miller also prompted an adjustment to the Cowboys’ Super Bowl futures price, from +800 to +1000 at the SuperBook, vice president of risk Ed Salmons told Gaming Today.
Miller brings the pedigree of a future Hall of Famer and 110.5 career sacks to a Rams defense that leads the NFL with 25 sacks. L.A.’s defensive unit was already loaded with talent with studs like defensive tackle Aaron Donald, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and linebacker Leonard Floyd.
Two other factors bolster the Rams’ championship outlook: They beat the Bucs handily, 34-24 in Week 3, and the Super Bowl will be played in their home digs, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Top Of Super Bowl 2022 Oddsboard
While the Bucs and Bills entered Week 8 deadlocked at the top of Super Bowl futures boards, Buffalo has overtaken Tampa and has claimed status as the sole favorite.
At DraftKings, the Bills were tightened from +550 to +500 after their win over the Dolphins, and the Bucs were lengthened to +650. SuperBook USA adjusted Buffalo from +500 to +450, and Tampa to +600.
The Bills’ path through the AFC looks less treacherous, at least at this point in the season, than what the Bucs face in a daunting NFC that also features the Rams, Cowboys, Packers, and Cardinals.
In fact, the NFC teams listed in the paragraph above occupy the five spots behind the Bills on DraftKings’ Super Bowl oddsboard.
