SlapFIGHT Championship Acquired by Pro League Network

Pro League Network (PLN) acquired SlapFIGHT Championship today, bringing a new niche sport under the company’s growing portfolio. PLN plans to use SlapFIGHT’s Branson, Missouri studio to develop the sport alongside other events under its umbrella.

SlapFIGHT Championship founder and CEO JT Tilley joins PLN as Creative Director under the terms of the acquisition.

PLN co-founders Bill Yucatonis and Mike Salvaris said:

“We couldn’t be more excited to add SlapFIGHT to our potfolio and are looking forward to growing the brand, as well as introducing SlapFIGHT fans to other PLN sports. JT and his team have a great eye for developing sports that are easy to understand, viral in nature, and compelling to watch.”

SlapFIGHT’s JT Tilley said:

“When I fisrt met the PLN team last year, it was clear that we shared a vidion for the future of sports netertainment—one where sports that may be considered ‘niche’ could, if produced correctly, be appealing to a broad audience and engaged with across multiple channels, including betting, fantasy, and watch-alongs.”

SlapFIGHT: A Hard-Hitting Newcomer in the Sporting World

Image, for a second, what a sport like SlapFIGHT might look like. Chances are you’re right on the money, at least in terms of the core gameplay. Competitors stand across from each other and slap their opponents until one submits or is knocked out. This is a very brief summary, of course. SlapFIGHT is making a name for itself as a legitimate sport with strict rules and regulations.

Recent fighters on the SlapFIGHT roster include former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia and three “home-grown talents” dubbed Wolverine, The Bell, and Neanderthal.

Through a previous partnership with PLN prior to the full-fledged acquisition, SlapFIGHT was available for betting on DraftKings in six US markets.

Slap fighting is a growing sport, and there are already multiple leagues. UFC President Dana White helms the Power Slap League, a similar organization offering the sport and televising it to the masses.

Pro League Network Brings Lesser-Known Sports to the Limelight

PLN was founded in 2022 and has quickly made a name as a promoter and supporter of alternative sports. Other events offered by PLN include:

  • World Putting League
  • CarJitsu
  • XTreme Long Drive
  • Pro Footgolf
  • National Carrom League
  • Strongman
  • T3 Touch Tennis
  • Beastball
  • Major League Paintball (NXL)

Many PLN sports are offered at top sportsbooks such as DraftKings, Bet365, and Betfred. In the time since its founding, the company has brought wagers on some of its sports to New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, and Wyoming.
