Vegas Infinite, a virtual reality online social casino presented by PokerStars, is now available to iOS users.
The development is big news, as iOS users can now enjoy the casino games they’ve been waiting for:
- Cash, tournament, and Spin & Go poker
- Roulette
- Blackjack
- Craps
- Slots and more
They’ll access all these games while exploring a 3D world originally crafted for VR devices like the Oculus Rift. The free-to-play Vegas Infinite platform is already tremendously popular across other platforms, such as PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest, and Steam.
PokersStars innovation leader James O’Reilly said:
With the addition of iOS, we’re welcoming a whole new group of players and thanks to cross-play and cross-progression, everyone can seamlessly enjoy Vegas Infinite wherever they are and on the device that works for them.
Why Vegas Inifinite is worth playing
Vegas Infinite’s VR experience was once its main selling point and is still worth checking out for those who have a VR device. In fact, the game was originally PokerStars VR before expanding to include other casino content and changing its name.
However, VR is now optional, since game updates last year. Once you download the game onto your iOS mobile or tablet device, you have to option of playing with or without VR.
When you start the game, you find yourself standing in a futuristic gaming lounge, enjoying views of a city skyline. A voice welcomes you to the game and provides an overview of what Vegas Infinite offers.
New players receive 1,500 free chips to start and a free spin on a bonus wheel to win even more free chips.
From there, you can choose between several casino games, including poker and roulette.
Vegas Infinite’s poker is more immersive than any other digital poker table you’ll play at. The table has eight seats, all occupied by players (the dealer is invisible). A narrator calls out action in the game with phrases like “that’s a call,” “raise it up,” “all in,” and “here’s the flop.” Each player has their own set of animations they can use, such as celebrating, jeering, and dancing.
Other small details make Vegas Infinite better than most online poker games. For example, watches worn by players give off a white glow. Those with beverages make realistic gulping sounds as they take a pull from their drink. The game also has the standard VR features, such as first-person perspective and live audio chat with other players.
What’s the difference between chips and creds?
Vegas Infinite resembles sweeps casinos in that it has a two-tier currency system: chips and creds. However, there are no cash prizes to be won; it’s all just for fun. You use chips to play the casino games that Vegas Infinite offers. Meanwhile, you use creds to buy in-game items from the store or gift them to other players. The social experience of Vegas Infinite is highly important, and PokerStars emphasizes its moderation technology to keep the vibes friendly.
Is Vegas Infinite free?
Yes, it’s free. You don’t need to use any money to play the game, although there are in-app purchases. You start with at least 1,500 chips and get free spins every few hours that bulk up your chip stack.
That being said, Vegas Infinite has a store where you can buy 10,000 to 5 million chips ranging in price from $1.99 to $99.99.
Also, the store sells props, apparel, skins, and effects. If you’re looking to buy a variety of things for your avatar, you can purchase packs that include chips, props, and other items.
Vegas Infinite also has a paid membership called “The Club” that costs $9.99. That membership gets you a monthly top-up of 100,000 chips, exclusive props, and in-game apparel, exclusive access to the virtual rooftop, and other perks.
