With inflation dropping to its lowest rate since May 2024 and the latest jobs report revealing 130,000 jobs added in January, more than half the market is convinced positive signs will push the Federal Reserve to lower rates at least twice by the end of the year. In theory, lower rates are intended to stimulate the economy.
Specifically, 26% of the prediction market believes there will be three rate cuts by year’s end, while 25% believe there will be two.
The Fed has seven regularly scheduled meetings remaining this year. Additionally, Chairman Jerome Powell — who has pushed back against the Trump administration’s numerous calls to lower rates — sees his term end in May. Analysts assume a Trump loyalist will succeed him and advocate for cuts, making multiple reductions appear more likely.
Experts are convinced a rate cut won’t happen at the Fed’s March 17-18 meeting. FedWatch, which polls economists on rate-cut sentiment, reports a 90.2% probability that rates will remain unchanged next month.

Reality tv: Rob Rausch’s ‘Traitors’ dominance
If prediction markets are correct regarding the reality competition show The Traitors, snake wrangler and Love Island alum Rob Rausch will win Season 4. Markets currently show an 88% chance of a Rausch victory.
Singer and actor Eric Nam, a former GQ Korea Man of the Year, is the next most likely winner at a distant 4%.
Volatility report: Bitcoin’s bearish February
After eclipsing the $100,000 mark for the first time in history in May 2025 and peaking at more than $123,000 in October, bitcoin has taken a severe tumble, losing nearly half its value since that peak.
Prediction markets are bearish on the cryptocurrency‘s growth for February, with only 14% of traders believing the coin will bounce back past $80,000. The market sees a 10% chance that bitcoin will surge past $82,500 by the end of the month.

NCAA: Betting against the No. 1 ranking
Prediction and sports betting markets are currently higher on Michigan (17% chance) than Arizona (15% chance) to win this season’s national championship. While Arizona holds the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll, Michigan leads the more technical NET rankings and Ken Pomeroy’s analytical rankings.
Michigan’s only loss came at home against an unranked Wisconsin team, which may be the primary reason the Wolverines aren’t No. 1 in the human polls. Arizona was undefeated through the first week of February but recently lost back-to-back games against No. 9 Kansas and No. 16 Texas Tech.

The week ahead in prediction markets
As February draws to a close, these markets reflect a high-stakes transition period for both the U.S. economy and pop culture. Whether the Federal Reserve pivot aligns with trader expectations or a “Traitor” pulls off a late-season upset, volatility remains the defining theme of 2026. Investors and fans alike will be watching closely as these predictions meet reality in the coming weeks.
