Sweepstakes casinos tend to have relatively few payment methods compared to their real-money counterparts, and finding one that will take PayPal is a challenge.

Still, it can be a great feeling to discover an online sweepstakes site that accepts your preferred method for payments, redemptions, or both. If you’re a PayPal user, we’ve done the legwork for you.

Unfortunately, we only found one site that will take that payment method.

About RealPrize.com

RealPrize is one of the select casinos that accept PayPal. You can use the popular e-wallet service to buy Gold Coins and receive some free Sweeps Coins as an additional gift.

Note that RealPrize only allows PayPal for purchases. In other words, you can’t redeem Sweeps Coins to a PayPal account. For that, you’ll have to use the gift card or bank transfer method.

Some Sites Claim To Offer PayPal But Don’t Actually Accept It

During my search for PayPal as a payment or redemption method, I visited over a dozen online sweepstakes casinos. Many sites with information about sweepstakes casinos will claim PayPal is an option, but upon a closer look, it’s not.

For example, McLuck is listed as a PayPal operator by many sites, but it has no such option for purchases on desktop or mobile. Carnival Citi is another commonly listed PayPal sweepstakes site. Yet, when I contacted customer support and they told me they accept PayPal, they were unable to point me in the right direction to actually use it. I even sent them a screenshot of my purchase options, which were only credit and debit cards.

All this is to say, take it with a grain of salt when a site says it accepts PayPal. The truth is that the method is extremely rare and hardly accepted by any sweepstakes sites.

PayPal Pros and Cons at Sweepstakes Casinos

Like any payment method, PayPal comes with upsides and drawbacks.

Pros:

  • PayPal is a trusted and secure payment method.
  • You can connect credit cards and bank accounts to PayPal for easy purchases.

Cons:

  • Sweepstakes casinos rarely accept PayPal.
  • When PayPal is available, it is usually only an option for purchases and not redemptions.
  • PayPal may charge fees for purchases.

Alternatives To PayPal

If you’re disappointed by the lack of PayPal’s availability at sweepstakes casinos, join the club. Fortunately, there are many alternative payment options.

Sweepstakes sites commonly accept bank transfers, and they come with an added benefit. You can purchase Gold Coins (or similar standard currency) and redeem prizes directly to a bank account. The only downside is that redemption minimums tend to be higher for online banking than for gift cards.

Apple Pay is another simple and easy way to pay for Gold Coins at sweepstakes casinos. It’s typically offered on mobile only, and it functions well for in-app purchases at sites with a dedicated mobile platform. For example, mcLuck allows Apple Pay purchases within its native iOS app.

Finally, Skrill is a nice alternative. It’s another e-wallet service similar to PayPal, but it’s far more common as an accepted sweepstakes payment method.
