Two years after introducing its Casinoverse social gaming app, Wind Creek Hospitality continues to innovate, enhance the user experience, and incorporate its retail properties. Recently, Casinoverse received an update that includes the company’s newest casino, Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino, and introduced a responsible gaming page.
What’s Casinoverse?
The Casinoverse is a social casino app where users can play casino-style games such as slots, blackjack, roulette, and video poker using virtual currency. They earn the tokens in various ways, including challenges, leaderboards, and daily logins. Another prominent feature is the 3D globe, where players can complete tasks and tutorials. The globe consists of various islands, many holding an animated replica of all the Wind Creek retail properties. Based on the player’s location, the closest property is their base.
When they play in the Casinoverse, players use four currencies:
- Credits: Used for playing games. Once the player runs out, they spin a wheel to earn more.
- Online Entries: Earned through on-property promotions, Battle Challenge, and found in-app. They’re used for drawings.
- WScore: Accumulated by playing in the app and used to redeem items in the WStore.
- Sapphires: Earned when opening interactables on the globe. Players can use Sapphires for redemptions in the WStore.
Casinoverse is a social gaming site, meaning users cannot win real cash or redeem their winnings for cash prizes like sweepstakes casinos. However, they can redeem some currencies for physical rewards at the in-app WStore. They include dining and play credits, as well as hotel stays at Wind Creek’s retail properties. In addition to the WStore, users can win similar rewards through auctions.
Casinoverse Has Added Many Features Since its Launch
When it went live in August 2022, Casinoverse had basic features, including the ability to play several slots and participate in tournaments, auctions, and draws. It also included a 3D map but without many functions. Fast-forward to its latest version, and the 3D globe has received many updates. They include the ability to complete quests, play minigames, and visit all the retail properties.
As a social gaming site, Casinoverse has also added many casino-style games. Players will find around 150 slots with various themes and features. There are even some games that are usually found at real-money casinos, like Rakin’ Bacon by AGS. Beyond slots, there are minigames, which are arcade games many people enjoy on their phones, blackjack, roulette, and video poker options.
While it doesn’t involve real-money gambling, Casinoverse has added a responsible gaming page with its latest update. Users can find information on problem gambling signs and links to support organizations on the page.
The interactive app has earned Casinoverse a gold medal for the best iGaming Product at the 2023 GGB Gaming & Technology Awards.
Wind Creek’s New Chicago Casino is Now on the App
When scrolling the 3D globe, Casinoverse players can visit and complete quests at the newest company property: Wind Creek Chicago Southland, which opened on November 11. For Illinois players, it will likely become their home casino on the app. Those interested in visiting or claiming rewards at the 75,000 sq. ft. property located in East Hazel Crest will find:
- 1,400 Slots
- 56 Table Games,
- High-Limit Slot Areas and High-Limit Table Games Salon
- Poker Room
- Sports Bar
The casino is open from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m., but once it receives approval from the Illinois Gaming Board, it will operate 24/7. The sports bar will eventually be licensed as a full sportsbook. Furthermore, the company expects to open a 16-story, 252-room hotel early next year. The hotel will include a spa and fine-dining restaurant on the top floor.
As part of the licensing terms, the company will pay the state $45 million next month, most of which will go toward the Illinois state budget. Wind Creek is projecting the casino revenue to reach $160 million by 2026. As the property is located within two communities, East Hazel Crest and Homewood, each will receive tax revenues of about $3 million annually, based on Wind Creek’s estimates.
