How To Play DraftKings Pick6

DraftKings Pick6 is a “pick‘em” style fantasy game, which lets you combine between two and six “more” or “less” picks on player props into entries. The more selections you add to your entry, the higher the payout. Players familiar with sports betting will find the gameplay similar to building a parlay wager using player totals. At the same time, DFS veterans may recognize the format from platforms like Underdog Pick ‘Em or PrizePicks.

To start, open the Pick6 platform to view the available selections. Pick6 will show you NFL players by default, but you can toggle between different sports (MLB, NBA, WNBA, CFB, UFC, NASCAR, PGA Tour) using the toolbar above. You can also sort by stat type. For example, on the NFL page, you can view picks related to passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, total touchdowns, receptions, and more.

On each stat, you can select “More” or “Less” to add it to your selection. Keep in mind that your entry must include picks from two or more teams, no two picks related to the same player, and you cannot yet make picks involving multiple sports or leagues. That said, we expect that cross-sport picks may be added in the future since this is a relatively standard feature of most “pick‘em” fantasy games.

For example, if you wanted to build an entry for NFL Week 1, you could add Lamar Jackson to have more than 217.5 passing yards, Travis Kelce to have less than 56.5 receiving yards, and Patrick Mahomes to have less than 264.5 passing yards.

These picks will populate in your “Review My Picks” tab. You can enter an entry fee there, and DraftKings will estimate your prize money. Once you lock in your wager, all there is to do is wait. Your entry is a winner if all of your individual picks are correct. If any one of your picks misses, your entry loses. Unlike some pick‘em-type fantasy games, there is no “flexible” or “insured” option where you can accept a reduced payout to increase your chances of winning.

Since Pick6 uses a unique peer-to-peer entry distribution system, your actual payout depends on how many players take the opposite side of your picks. If the payout is less than the minimum estimate (i.e., $30 in the above example), DraftKings will make up the difference with Pick6 Credits. In our experience, the payout estimates are typically accurate within a few dollars.

Normally, this would limit your choices of available bets since you need someone to take the other side in order to wager. However, Pick6 uses a unique entry distribution system to ensure you can customize your entries while maintaining a peer-to-peer network. Essentially, Pick6 splits your entries into $1 increments and divides them across eligible contests. This ensures that you don’t need someone to build the exact opposite entry as you since every entry is disaggregated into $1 wagers on individual player stats.

The result is a unique new concept: a peer-to-peer fantasy game where players aren’t limited to choosing wagers from a lobby or waiting for someone to back the opposite side of their entry. In many ways, this is the most exciting thing about Pick6 and may well prove to be a key innovation in the world of daily fantasy sports.
