Bet365 Continues US Expansion With Arizona Launch

The British gambling company bet365 has launched in Arizona, making it the 17th online sportsbook to launch in the state. The launch signifies the foreign brand’s continued focus on the US market, as it is now available in nine legal sports betting states across the US.

The Ak-Chin Indian community has partnered with the sportsbooks to facilitate its entry into the Arizona sports betting market. To kick off the partnership, bet365 will make a $1 million donation to support the Ak-Chin Community’s local initiatives.

Robert Miguel, chairman of the Ak-Chin, stated as part of the official announcement. He expressed his excitement “to provide our customers a premier experience – no matter whether they visit our sportsbook in-person or online.”

Competition Heats Up in Arizona

The Arizona sports betting market is getting crowded as more sportsbooks join the fray. With 17 online sportsbooks, residents can access a wide range of choices, only missing out on Fanatics Sportsbook, as it is yet to launch in the Copper State.

According to the Arizona Department of Gaming, the state recorded wagers worth $713.5 million in November. This figure is a 10% increase over the October handle and is a new record high for the state. Overall, Arizona is one of the most promising markets in the American sports betting industry, with November’s handle clocking in a 15.7% increase from the same period of the previous year.

Bet365 Tops App Response Time Study

In October 2023, bet365 recorded the second most significant spike in downloads of any sportsbook available in the United States. In a study conducted by Eilers and Krejcik Gaming (EKG), bet365 was found to be the outright fastest sportsbook app.

Emerging on top of a list of 15 operators tested by volunteers across 11 states, testers measured the length of time that it took to process an in-play bet in seconds. EKG defined processing times as how many seconds the app took to successfully place an in-play bet after testers tapped the ‘place bet’ button.

Of the 15 sportsbooks evaluated, bet365 topped the overall average processing time rankings by taking 3.35 seconds to confirm a bet. The next fastest sportsbook, FanDuel, was nearly a second slower, with a processing time of 4.15 seconds. Bet365’s response time consistently tended towards the quickest; it topped out evaluations for MLB bets(2.72 seconds), NBA bets(3.87 seconds), and tennis(3.62 seconds).

Bet365 is available in Colorado, New Jersey, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Louisiana, and Arizona. The sportsbook launched in Louisiana during a record month in October 2023, when the state recorded an all-time high handle. The sportsbook is entering the Arizona market at a similar time when players explore legal sports betting options to the fullest.

It remains to be seen if the sportsbook will gain traction in the crowded market. With the Super Bowl less than a week away, state residents will gain access to yet another welcome offer to capitalize on ahead of one of the most significant betting events of the year.
