The American Gambling Awards (AGA) has named BetMGM its 2025 Online Casino of the Year.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt expressed the company’s gratitude for the award, which is its fourth consecutive win in the past four years.
“We’re honored to be named Online Casino of the Year, a recognition that highlights the dedication of our team and the strength of our platform,” Greenblatt said in a press release.
“From record-breaking jackpots to new gaming experiences, we’re proud to deliver a platform that excites, entertains, and rewards our growing community, while continuing to innovate and explore new ways to engage players in US iGaming.”
Growth, game selection drive iGaming honor
The AGA noted that BetMGM’s win had to do with several factors, including its “exclusive games, recognizable consumer brand, and compelling engagement tools.”
Additionally, the AGA pointed out BetMGM’s strong annual growth:
- Deposits were up 37%
- Monthly active users rose 42%
- Net gaming revenue increased 25%
Big jackpots help raise BetMGM’s profile amid tough iGaming market
The US online casinos market is a competitive one, as only seven states offer legal iGaming. Three of those states, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, are among the most lucrative gaming markets in the country.
BetMGM Casino faces stiff competition in those states, battling with DraftKings Casino, FanDuel, Caesars, and other brands to earn bets from users.
Amid that competition, however, BetMGM has been able to carve out a nice chunk of revenue each month, and the brand manages to make headlines for big jackpots.
For example, in August 2024, a user won the biggest iGaming jackpot in US history while playing a title on PlayMGM’s New Jersey online casino.
“BetMGM and one lucky player made iGaming history,” Greenblatt said after the big win. “This win is the latest proof that BetMGM Casino is the premier destination for progressive jackpots and unforgettable experiences.”
So far in 2025, BetMGM’s PlayMGM.com NJ online casino has generated more than 165 jackpots of more than $40,000. Additionally, it’s the only iGaming platform to surrender at least four jackpots of more than $200,000 in a single day over the past two months.
The online casino accomplished the feat twice in September: once on the 15th and once on the 4th.
