  • Circa Sports was granted a gaming license in Arizona.
  • Circa will offer sports betting in partnership with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe.

Circa Sports has been allocated an Arizona event wagering license, clearing the operator to offer sports betting in the state under a designation for the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe.

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) said the license was allocated to Circa Sports Arizona LLC effective July 27.

A launch date has not been announced, but the approval gives Circa a path into one of the country’s more crowded regulated sports betting markets.

Arizona becomes Circa’s 7th online market

Arizona will be the seventh state where Circa offers online sports wagering. The company also operates brick-and-mortar sportsbooks in Illinois, Kentucky, and Nevada.

Arizona legalized online sports wagering in 2021 and allows up to 20 sportsbook licenses, split evenly between tribal entities and professional sports teams.

Before Circa’s allocation, the ADG listed 14 regulated sportsbook operators, which means Circa becomes the 15th operator tied to the state’s regulated market. Arizona’s field already includes major national brands such as:

  • DraftKings
  • FanDuel
  • Bet365
  • BetMGM
  • Caesars
  • BetRivers

According to ADG figures, Arizona bettors have wagered $35.3 billion since legal sports betting began in the state, generating about $190.6 million in fees.

At the same time, Arizona has proved difficult for some operators. At least eight have exited the market after failing to gain traction, underscoring how competitive the state remains even with open license capacity.
