FanDuel Teams Up With Kindbridge Behavioral Health

The first major initiative in FanDuel’s announcement is a partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health. The organization and its research branch — Kindbridge Research Institute — work to connect problem gamblers with treatment and resources and further research problem gambling in the United States.

Together, FanDuel and Kindbridge will launch a pilot program in New Jersey and Ohio, providing complimentary mental health assessments to self-excluded individuals so they can access support and recovery resources.

Daniel Umfleet, CEO of Kindbridge Behavioral Health, said:

“We are thrilled to be working with FanDuel to offer vital mental health support for players in need. This collaboration is deeply resonant, extending a compassionate hand to those navigating the complex terrain of problem gambling. At the heart of our ethos lies a fervent belief in the power of accessible mental health resources to illuminate paths toward healing and recovery.”

The pilot program will also connect self-excluded players in New Jersey and Ohio with support groups in their states.

Two Big Donations to Responsible Gambling Organizations

FanDuel plans to donate $150,000 to the National Council on Problem Gambling in recognition of Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The donation will support the NCPG Agility Grants program, which is funded by the NFL.

“Investing in prevention is key to mitigating gambling-related harm,” said Keith Whyte, NCPG Executive Director. “We appreciate FanDuel’s support of NCPG and their proactive and collaborative approach to providing problem gambling prevention, research and treatment resources.”

FanDuel is also donating $150,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming. This donation is intended to support research and educational programs to support responsible gambling.

“FanDuel’s support continues to play a huge role in ICRG’s research and development,” stated Arthur Paikowsky, President of ICRG. “We are honored to work with FanDuel as we commit to advocating for the importance of responsible gaming.”

New Retail Tools for Responsible Gambling

FanDuel has also extended its responsible gambling programs into retail locations. At FanDuel locations in various states, the company will reward players who use responsible gambling tools such as deposit limits, wagering limits, and time limits. Customers who show a staff member they are using a tool to manage their play will get a FanDuel-branded ‘Play Well” gift. The promotion will start in mid-March and will be available in Phoenix, Chicago, and Washington DC.
