A nightly look at shifting World Cup narratives

According to the company’s press release, as part of the partnership, Kalshi will power a recurring segment titled “Why Everyone Suddenly Believes,” which examines how perceptions around teams and players evolve throughout the tournament.

The segment will use real-time prediction market data from Kalshi to identify the moments that dramatically shift public expectations. Match results, injuries, standout performances and tactical decisions can all alter how fans and traders view a team’s chances of advancing or winning the tournament.

Rather than relying solely on polls or social media reactions, the segment will track how participants are using real money to predict outcomes, offering insight into how confidence changes as the World Cup unfolds.

The analysis will also highlight situations where public perception and match results may not align. A team could win while its championship odds fall, or a breakout performance could quickly elevate a nation into contender status.

Prediction markets become part World Cup viewing

The partnership reflects the growing role of prediction markets in sports media and fan engagement during major global events.

By integrating Kalshi’s live market data into nightly coverage, “Night Cup” aims to provide viewers with a broader understanding of how the tournament is evolving beyond the final scoreline.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup concludes July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with Spain, France and Argentina among the leading contenders in Kalshi’s live championship markets as group-stage play continues.

“Night Cup” will air nightly throughout the tournament.
