Following an opening weekend that featured a few notable upsets in the Round of 64 and a chalky Round of 32, the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Sweet 16 will tip off on Thursday. All four 1-seeds (Connecticut, North Carolina, Houston, and Purdue) and all four 2-seeds (Iowa State, Arizona, Marquette, and Tennessee) are still alive. In fact, 6-seed Clemson and 11-seed NC State are the field’s only remaining teams that are lower than a 5-seed.
Here is a look at the point spreads for all eight Sweet 16 matchups, starting with Clemson vs. Arizona in the West Region on Thursday night at 7:09 p.m. ET on CBS. Thursday and Friday’s Sweet 16 games are streaming on many channels and services, including Paramount+ and Max. Cable subscribers can watch the games on CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV.

Betting Favorites Thrive in Second Round
After 12-seed Grand Canyon beat 5-seed Saint Mary’s, three 11-seeds won their 6 vs. 11 matchups, and 14-seed Oakland shocked John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats in the opening round, underdogs did not enjoy much success in the Round of 32. While the Clemson Tigers won their second tournament game in a row as the betting underdogs, the favorites on Saturday and Sunday otherwise cruised.
That included convincing wins by UConn, Duke, North Carolina, and Purdue. The favorites’ success across the board has set up a compelling Sweet 16 slate. Of the eight matchups that will determine who reaches the Elite 8, oddsmakers expect all but UConn vs. San Diego State to be decided by single digits. Four games — UNC-Bama, Iowa State-Illinois, Houston-Duke, and Tennessee-Creighton — feature a spread tighter than 4 points, which promises to make for a memorable Sweet 16/Elite 8 weekend.
