Former reality TV star Tanner Tolbert, who parlayed an appearance on Bachelor In Paradise into finding his wife, won more than $1 million in DraftKings‘ U.S. Open Golf Millionaire Maker DFS contest this past weekend.
The entry fee was $15, and Tolbert entered the maximum 300 lineups. His entries accounted for 15% of the top 100 finishers, including 1st, 5th, 7th, 10th, 13th, and 25th place, plus nine other entries, according to DFS Newsletter. The total prize pool was $2.75 million.

Tolbert was at the center of a daily fantasy sports controversy two years ago when he and his wife, whom he met on reality TV in 2016, broke rules by colluding in a contest by combining entries to exceed the maximum allowed. That contest, also run by DraftKings, would have paid more than $1 million to the Tolberts. Neither Tanner nor his wife Jade were banned due to the incident.
Tanner Tolbert, a former contestant on reality-TV series “The Bachelor,” finished w/ the top score in DraftKings' $2.75 Millionaire U.S. Open contest.

There is no indication that DraftKings is investigating the validity of Tolbert’s win in DraftKings’ U.S. Open contest, which attracted more than 208,000 entries.
The ‘Bachelor’ Couple Who Tried to Cheat a Fantasy Sports Contest
During the NFL Playoffs in 2020, Jade Roper Tolbert was initially announced as the $1 million winner of a DraftKings fantasy football contest, but it was determined that she and Tanner Tolbert had worked together to craft entries that hedged the DFS picks and violated rules on multiple accounts and collaboration. Jade’s entry was invalidated, and she was never awarded prize money.
The backlash from that incident was swift, as many in the sports betting and fantasy sports communities criticized the reality TV couple for what was deemed clear cheating. Within a few months, Tanner was active again in fantasy sports, tweeting often about it and the NFL.
Tanner appeared on the 11th season of The Bachelorette but was eliminated in week six. He was invited to participate in Bachelor In Paradise and was the winner. He met and first dated Jade on that season of the popular reality series that enjoys a cult-like following. They were married in 2018 and have four children. According to his social media accounts, Tanner is a general sales manager at a Toyota dealer in Kansas.
