In this bill, state legislators removed any language that banned sports betting at the state level. That said, federal law in 2017 prohibited legalized sports betting. Bills have been proposed to expand mobile sports betting regulations past the physical boundary of casinos. However, none made any progress in the legislature.

The most recent sports betting bill to be proposed was HB774. Despite making it through the Senate, the bill expired as the state’s legislative session ended. Had HB774 been passed, it would have allowed for mobile wagering throughout the state.
