However, on July 16, 2024, Monmouth Park announced that Darby Development, acting as agent of the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, had reached an agreement to establish NYRA Bets as the Managing Vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel account wagering system for horse racing. All account wagering platforms will have the opportunity to enter the New Jersey market provided those entities gain the approval of NYRA Bets.

Esports Betting in New Jersey

In February 2022, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement gave the green light to Esports Entertainment Group to accept bets on competitive video games or esports, WHYY reported. The London-based company went live with its betting platform after a five-day “soft play” period that January.
