Eight MLB teams got a new sponsor today. And BetMGM customers got a new incentive to wager on the remainder of the playoffs.
With BetMGM becoming the new official sponsor of all the bullpens remaining in the 2024 MLB postseason, a new promo offer launched in conjunction that gives bettors a shot at part of a $50,000 prize pool if a homer lands among the warm-up tosses.
Bullpens in Milwaukee — where the Brewers host Game 3 of the Wild Card Series tonight against the Mets — Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, Kansas City, and New York (the Yankees and perhaps Mets) will also be adorned with BetMGM signage. The Tigers’ sweep of the Astros ruined the big reveal at Minute Maid Park (above).
How the BetMGM promo works:
- Place a qualifying wager on a player to hit a home run.
- If that player homers into one of the bullpens, the bettor will win a share of $50,000 in bonus bets.
California, Missouri and Wisconsin are the only states currently hosting playoff series without state-wide mobile betting legal and available.
While gambling sponsorships were once unthinkable in professional sports, particularly Major League Baseball, signage for sportsbooks and casinos has become an almost unnoticeable part of the scenery in American venues. Numerous MLB have full-time gambling partnerships, and a BetMGM logo adorned the famed “Green Monster” at Fenway Park in Boston.
