There is always extra excitement during race week, but this year brings a new way for fans to engage away from the track.
BetMGM has officially launched BetMGM Speedway in partnership with Richard Childress Racing (RCR). The new title adds a high-octane racing theme to the online casino’s lineup just as NASCAR enters one of its busiest stretches of the season.
The game is now live at BetMGM Casino in Michigan, as well as BetMGM Casino and Borgata Online in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Choose your lane: The No. 3 vs. the No. 8
The game’s hook is intuitive: Players choose between two of RCR’s most iconic car numbers: Kyle Busch’s No. 8 and Austin Dillon’s No. 3.
BetMGM Speedway is a fast-paced “crash” style game designed to mimic the intensity of a race rather than the traditional feel of spinning reels or sitting at a digital table. In this format, quick choices and timing are essential, rewarding players who have the nerve to hold out for higher multipliers.
The game features a 94% return to player (RTP) and high volatility, with a maximum payout of 10,000 times the total bet. To lean into the competitive spirit, players can place two bets simultaneously—one on each car—effectively creating a head-to-head matchup. Features such as auto-play and auto-cashout allow users to customize their level of involvement.
BetMGM Casino and Richard Childress Racing
While BetMGM and RCR have been partners since 2021, this release represents a deeper level of collaboration. Rather than simple trackside signage or a logo on a fender, BetMGM Speedway integrates RCR’s identity into the mechanics of the game. While the drivers themselves do not appear, their presence is felt through the inclusion of their signature car designs and numbers.
Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, said the goal was to capture racing’s split-second decision-making and sense of acceleration within a casino product. Mike Verlander, president of Richard Childress Racing, described the game as a prime example of how the two brands can work together to channel the thrill of the sport during its biggest moments.
Why racing fans are moving to online casinos
The launch reflects a broader industry trend of “convergence,” where operators seek natural ways to transition sportsbook customers into the online casino vertical.
A racing-themed “fast game” fits this strategy perfectly. Fans who already track driver performance or hunt for race odds now have a familiar entry point into online casinos. The format feels consistent with the NASCAR experience, even though it operates within the casino ecosystem.
GameSense and responsible gaming
While the game emphasizes high volatility and significant potential payouts, BetMGM continues to prioritize its responsible gambling suite.
GameSense, a program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, is integrated into both the mobile app and desktop platforms. The program provides educational resources and practical tools to help customers manage their play, reinforcing BetMGM’s commitment to player safety.
As engines rev for NASCAR’s headline week, BetMGM Speedway offers fans a fresh experience between practice sessions and the checkered flag.
