Today, Fanatics introduced the Fanatics Sportsbook & Casino to the public in New Jersey, the last state to move away from the PointsBet platform, following its purchase of the US business of the Australian-based operator PointsBet.
The negotiation, which commenced last year, was finally a sealed deal after the $225 million payment was completed in April 2024.
After the purchase, Fanatics has extended its presence to all 20 states where PointsBet was previously operational, including:
- New Jersey
- Michigan
- Iowa
- Pennsylvania
- West Virginia
- Vermont
- North Carolina
- Maryland
Its online casino is now accessible in three states (Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan), and with this accomplishment, the business can now serve about 95% of prospective online sports bettors located in the United States.
What Should New Jersey Residents Expect from Fanatics Sportsbook?
Fanatics guarantees PointsBet users in New Jersey a smooth transfer of their user data, account information, prizes, and choices for responsible gaming to the Fanatics Sportsbook.
Residents of the state as well as tourists to the state may now access the Fanatics Sportsbook through the iOS and Android platforms, allowing them to experience a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.
Much as with traditional launch events, Fanatics users may earn up to 5% in FanCash cashback on all sports wagers, win or lose. This cashback can then be used for purchases or bonus bets. The Fanatics bonus code can also be used to unlock welcome promos.
Fanatics has been in the business of expanding in the US through established partnerships with leading game developers, including Boom Entertainment, Evolution, IGT, and Light & Wonder, specifically for its digital gaming platform.
These partnerships enable Fanatics to offer a wide range of online slot machines, traditional casino games, and live-dealer experiences, including multi-hand blackjack and lightning roulette. The app also has a discovery feed, a sophisticated search function, and real-time updates on games and statistics.
Also, Fanatics customers in New Jersey are able to expand their betting activities to other jurisdictions that have allowed sports betting by using the Fanatics Sportsbook’s single app and wallet.
As part of both companies’s restructuring, PointsBet appointed in February a new Chief Technology Officer, Daniel Lucas, from Flutter Entertainment.
Meanwhile, when it came to total gaming income in March, PointsBet ranked as the second largest sportsbook in the state of New Jersey, behind FanDuel but ahead of DraftKings. This was a significant accomplishment for the company, which had a strong start in the state.
