The 2024 Men’s NCAA Tournament Final Four is set, and we have two clear favorites to meet in the National Championship game. However, the games still have to be played, and we are here to break down the Final Four odds.

After another dominating performance, the UConn Huskies are odds-on favorites to win it all and go back-to-back. However, the Purdue Boilermakers follow in betting odds and are looking for its first appearance in the national championship since 1969. Behind the two favorites are the Alabama Crimson Tide and NC State Wolfpack, both given generous prices.

Final Four Odds

The Final Four is always a bittersweet time of the year. While we usually get some incredible basketball played on Saturday night, these are the season’s final games. Still, we should be in for some great action with the defending national champions, a red-hot No.1 seed with something to prove, and a double-digit Cinderella.

There are two clear favorites to win their Final Four matchups and advance to the national championship: UConn and Purude. Below, we will break down each matchup, including the early betting odds, and give our favorite bets.

NC State vs. Purdue Odds

NCAAB Futures Odds: NC State (), Purude ()

One year after losing to a No. 16 seed in the first round, Purude is in the Final Four for the first time since 1980. Zach Edey, the projected back-to-back National Player of the Year, has been unstoppable all season, especially in the tournament.

In the Elite 8 win over Tennessee, Edey scored a career-best 40 points and added 16 boards. Edey is averaging 30 points and 16.3 rebounds for the tournament, shooting 65.6% from the field and drawing 13.5 free-throw attempts per game.

Although NC State has gotten some great play on both ends of the court from DJ Burns Jr., it is hard to imagine he will have that same success against Edey. Even if the Wolfpack can limit his production, Purdue is a lot better than last year’s squad or any other team that has disappointed in March during the Matt Painter era.

The Boilermakers shoot the ball well and defend all three levels better than anyone NC State has seen in March. The Wolfpack have the guys to keep this close, as DJ Horne and Mohamed Diarra have been critical to their success. This game will come down to NC State’s ability to constantly score against this Purdue defense.

Most sportsbooks have Purdue giving the Wolfpack 9-10 points, which feels reasonable given how well Purdue plays on both ends of the court. Though it is always fun to root and bet on March’s Cinderella, the clock strikes midnight on Saturday as the Boilermakers roll on to the national championship.

Alabama vs. UConn Odds

Alabama vs. UConn Spread: Bama (), Huskies ()

Alabama vs. UConn Moneyline: Bama (), Huskies ()

Alabama vs. UConn Total: Over/Under ()

NCAAB Futures Odds: Bama (), UConn ()

At this point, it is probably not wise to bet against the UConn Huskies.

The Huskies have won 10 straight tournament games by double-digits and have a favorable matchup against Alabama in the Final Four. Although the Crimson Tide are playing their best defense of the season in March, UConn has a rotation full of NBA talent that plays at the highest level on both ends of the court.

UConn has led by at least 30 points in every game during the NCAA Tournament, and they do most of their damage in the second half. Illinois battled with Dan Hurley’s squad for the first 20 minutes before a 30-0 run put them to bed.

Stopping the massive runs UConn goes on will be the difference between having a chance and losing by a humiliating margin. Alabama’s offense has shot the lights out from deep, but so did Illinois leading up to their matchup with the Huskies.

The volume of threes the Tide take, led by Mark Sears, will be enough to give them a chance if they continue hitting at a high clip. However, the defense does not offer much help, especially down low. The most critical factor in this game is Alabama trading twos for threes and keeping the game close enough that a hot stretch can put them in the lead.

Alabama should still be able to put up a big number based on how well they’re shooting. But UConn will exploit this defense’s weaknesses and win the game. The spread is too rich for betting against a quality three-point shooting team, so we will take a swing with the Over in this Final Four matchup.
