Lamar Jackson has only an outside chance to play Sunday night, and Atlanta just scored 45 points on Monday night. That is the biggest betting story of NFL Week 5, and it is one of six quarterback and star situations still unresolved.

The Six Situations Moving Week 5 Lines
| Player | Status | Game | Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lamar Jackson (Ravens QB) | Ankle sprain. Outside chance to play | At Falcons, Sunday night | BAL -3.5 at the open. Will move |
| Jayden Daniels (Commanders QB) | Elbow dislocation. Hoped to return | Vs Giants | WAS -3 |
| Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals WR) | Concussion protocol | At Dolphins | CIN -7.5, down from -8.5 |
| Saquon Barkley (Eagles RB) | Hamstring. Week to week | Vs Jaguars, London | JAX -5.5, up from -3 |
| Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers QB) | Thumb. Out | At Cowboys, Thursday | DAL -10 |
| Caleb Williams (Bears QB) | Hamstring. Reported out for several weeks | At Packers | CHI -3 |
1. Ravens: Lamar Jackson’s Ankle
Jackson left Sunday’s 24-18 win over Tennessee after the second quarter and did not return. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that he has only an outside chance to play at Atlanta, and that the injury could keep him out for multiple games depending on his rehab.

If Jackson cannot go, Tyler Huntley starts for the first time this season. Huntley went 8-of-9 for 63 yards in relief, but the offence produced no points and five first downs across five drives.
Line impact: Baltimore opened as a 3.5-point favourite and the number had not moved before the news. It is now unreliable. The Falcons also won 45-24 on Monday night, so books are weighing a hot Atlanta team against an uncertain Baltimore quarterback. Wait for last minute.
2. Commanders: Jayden Daniels and a Backup Problem
Washington hopes Jayden Daniels can return from an elbow dislocation after a “huge positive step” in practice, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Marcus Mariota, who started in Daniels’ place, left Sunday’s 30-13 loss to the Colts with a knee injury. Quinn said it is believed to be an MCL injury and would be evaluated further.

If Daniels cannot play, rookie Athan Kaliakmanis, who relieved Mariota in London, could start.
Line impact: Washington is a 3-point favourite over the Giants, who beat Arizona 36-24 last week. The spread assumes the better quarterback scenario. If Daniels sits, expect it to shrink.
3. Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins
Chase left the second quarter of Sunday’s 22-17 loss to Jacksonville with a concussion and is in the league’s protocol. Tee Higgins suffered an adductor injury late and is considered day-to-day. Mitch Tinsley was the only other Bengals wide receiver to see snaps behind them.
Line impact: Cincinnati opened as an 8.5-point favourite over the Dolphins and the line is now 7.5, while the total fell from 46.5 to 42.5. Miami is 0-4, so the market still trusts the Bengals, but it has taken both receivers’ injuries into account.
4. Eagles: Saquon Barkley’s Hamstring
Barkley left the first half of Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Rams and is considered week to week. Philadelphia led 20-10 at halftime and did not score again. Linebacker Jonathan Greenard (ankle) also left, and cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (knee) did not return. Offensive tackle Lane Johnson and receiver DeVonta Smith were inactive for the game.
Line impact: The Eagles are 0-4 against the spread and travel to London to face a Jaguars team that is 3-1 against it. The spread opened at 3 and has climbed to 4.5 or more, and the total dropped by a point.
5. Buccaneers: Still Without Baker Mayfield
Mayfield is out with a dislocated thumb, and one injury tracker projects a return around Weeks 6 to 9. That is an outside estimate, not a team timeline. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels is the quarterback, and Tampa Bay is 0-4 and 0-4 against the spread.
Line impact: Dallas opened at -9.5 and moved to -10 for Thursday night. The Cowboys, 3-1 against the spread, have gone over the total in each of their four games.

6. Bears: Caleb Williams Is Still Out
Williams was reported out three to four weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring injury suffered in Week 2. CBS Sports carries a report that Tyson Bagent is set to start against Green Bay, so confirm who is under centre when the inactives are released.
Line impact: Chicago moved from -1.5 to -2.5 and beyond, and is 3-1 straight up and against the spread. Green Bay is 1-3 against it, but 6-2 as a home underdog under Matt LaFleur.
