Lamar Jackson has only an outside chance to play Sunday night, and the Ravens were 3.5-point favourites at the Falcons before that news broke. That line is the one to watch in NFL Week 5, which also brings the first byes and a 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff in London.

Dallas is the only double-digit favourite, laying about 10 to a winless Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Here are the current NFL odds for every game, the lines that moved, and the three injury calls that could move them again.

Spreads and totals are the 5 October consensus. Some books differ by a point or more: Dallas ranges from -8.5 to -10, and Jacksonville from -4.5 to -6.5. The Chiefs and Panthers are on bye, so Week 5 has 15 games.

The Line Everyone Is Waiting On: Ravens at Falcons

Ravens -3.5 at Falcons, total 46.5. The number has barely moved since it opened, and that is about to end.

Jackson left Sunday’s 24-18 win over Tennessee with a sprained ankle. NFL Network reports he has only an outside chance to play, and that he could miss several games. Tyler Huntley would start in his place.

Atlanta also scored 45 against New Orleans on Monday night. A Ravens spread of -3.5 assumes Jackson plays and the Falcons are average. Neither may be true. Expect this line to move all week, and wait for the Friday injury report before taking it.

Three Spreads That Are Provisional

  • Giants at Commanders, WAS -3. Jayden Daniels, out with an elbow dislocation, is hoped to return. Backup Marcus Mariota left Sunday’s loss with a knee injury, so rookie Athan Kaliakmanis is next in line.
  • Bengals at Dolphins, CIN -7.5. The line fell from -8.5 and the total from 46.5 to 42.5 after Ja’Marr Chase entered the concussion protocol and Tee Higgins hurt his adductor.
  • Eagles at Jaguars, JAX -5.5. Saquon Barkley is week-to-week with a hamstring injury. The spread opened at 3 and has climbed.

Our Week 5 news roundup covers each of these in detail.

The London Game: A 9:30 A.M. Kickoff

Eagles vs Jaguars, JAX -5.5, total 42.5. This is the second London game in a row, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on NFL Network. Jacksonville is the designated home team.

The Jaguars are 3-1 straight up and against the spread, with an average winning margin of 12.8 points, second best in the league. Philadelphia is 0-4 against the spread and led the Rams 20-10 at halftime last week before being shut out in the second half. The inactive list for this game arrives around 8:00 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Totals: The High and the Low

  • Highest: Lions at Cardinals, 53.5. Tied with Bills at Rams on Monday night at 53.5.
  • Lowest: Texans at Titans, 39.5. Followed by Browns at Jets at 40.5 and Vikings at Saints at 41.5.

The Texans and Titans are both 0-4. Five teams are winless this week: the Dolphins, Buccaneers, Titans, Texans and Chargers. Several of them play each other or another struggling team, which is why so many totals sit in the low 40s.

What Week 4 Told the Market

  • Underdogs won seven games outright. The Browns, Giants, Cowboys, Jaguars, Patriots, Panthers and Falcons all won as underdogs.
  • The biggest favourites won but did not cover. Baltimore, an 11.5-point favourite, beat Tennessee 24-18. Minnesota, a 10.5-point favourite, beat Miami 15-10.
  • Favourites of a field goal or more were not safe. Buffalo lost 29-26 to New England as a 6.5-point favourite, and Detroit lost 32-26 at Carolina as a 3.5-point road favourite.

How to Read the Week 5 Board

  • Treat Ravens at Falcons as unpriced. Wait for Friday’s report.
  • Respect the key numbers. Pittsburgh at -2.5 and Seattle at -2.5 sit just under 3. A three-point win pushes at -3.
  • Check the rest. Indianapolis flies back from London to play Pittsburgh, who played last Thursday and had extra days to prepare. The Browns also played Thursday and visit a Jets team that played Sunday.
  • Shop the number. Half a point across books matters most at 3 and 7.
