UFC 300 Main Event Odds: Pereira vs. Hill

Current champion Pereira is the current slight favorite at -125, making former champ Hill the underdog at +105.

UFC 300 Betting Preview: Pereira vs. Hill

Alex Pereira (9-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) has rapidly risen to the top of recognizable UFC fighters. His rivalry with Israel Adesanya transcended across multiple combat sports and made Pereira a quickly-known name in MMA.

After winning and losing the middleweight belt, Pereira went up to light heavyweight, first beating Jan Blachowicz and then finishing Jiri Prochazka for the vacant belt after Jamahal Hill vacated it due to injury.

But now Jamahal Hill (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is looking to get his belt back. It has been more than a year since he last fought and beat Pereira’s mentor Glover Teixeira for the belt at UFC 283. Hill beat the then 43-year-old champion by decision.

Now if Hill wants the belt back, he will have to get through Teixeira’s protege and Teixeira is guaranteed to be in the corner of Pereira during the fight.

Pereira’s UFC wins include former champions Prochazka, Blachowicz, Adesanya, and Sean Strickland.

Hill, the first champion to come from Dana White’s Contender Series, has had UFC wins over Teixeira, Thiago Santos, Johnny Walker, Jimmy Crute, and Ovince Saint-Preux.

More than likely, this fight will stay standing. Both guys prefer striking over grappling and both possess great power.

Most would probably say this fight will be Hill’s biggest test, which is likely true. But Pereira has fought multiple champions in his short UFC career so far and has come out on top again and again. Hill is not his biggest test, but Hill should definitely not be overlooked.

As for who is next? Well, Magomed Ankalaev still waits in the wings. And Prochaza and Aleksandar Rakic fight on the stacked prelims so if Rakic pulls off a stunning finish, that could catapult his stock and put him in a title fight next.

Regardless of any of the fight outcomes, UFC 300 is going to be a complete banger of a card and it’s only days away.

UFC 300 Betting Trends
