The past week in online casinos featured a diverse range of developments, from million-dollar investments in player safety to the expansion of “super apps” and platform consolidations.
$1 Million pledge to responsible gambling
BetMGM and its parent company, MGM Resorts International, have pledged $1 million to support responsible gambling initiatives. Nearly half of the funds are designated for the International Center for Responsible Gaming. According to an MGM Resorts press release, the money will fund a “new, groundbreaking research initiative examining sports wagering and its impact on player behavior.”
The donation coincides with National Problem Gambling Awareness Month, a grassroots campaign held every March by the National Council on Problem Gambling.
DraftKings to launch integrated “super app”
DraftKings, a leader in the U.S. gaming market, has announced the launch of a “super app” that integrates its primary gaming verticals: sports betting, online casino, prediction markets, and lottery. Availability of specific features will depend on the regulations of the user’s current state.
According to a press release on Businesswire, the brand expects to roll out the first iteration of the app by the start of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament. The unified interface allows users to make a single deposit into a central wallet, with funds accessible across all available gaming types in their jurisdiction.

PokerStars migrates to FanDuel platform
In a significant shift for the online poker landscape, PokerStars announced it is moving its platform to FanDuel. The transition leverages FanDuel’s highly rated user interface to streamline the poker experience.
The move provides FanDuel with a dedicated poker vertical in states where the game is legal. In New Jersey, for example, users will now be able to manage funds for casino, sportsbook, and poker through a single, unified wallet.
