BetRegal Named Official Sports Betting Partner Of Canadian Football League

The Canadian Football League has entered into an agreement with online sportsbook BetRegal to name the latter as the league’s first Official Sport Gaming Partner.

As part of the deal, BetRegal will fold their brand into league marketing and also have a presence during broadcasts and on-site for the CFL playoffs and Grey Cup, and the BetRegal logo will be included on the postseason jersey patch. In addition, BetRegal will be a branding partner of the CFL’s Grey Cup Festival, and the presenting sponsor for exclusive premium experiences during Grey Cup weekend.

Sports Betting In Canada And The CFL

Legalized sports betting in Canada is rapidly advancing, and the deal between the CFL and BetRegal is seen as a sign that the future could be profitable for parties involved in the industry. The CFL averages the third-highest attendance among North American professional sports leagues, and reported revenue of more than a quarter billion in the last non-pandemic year, according to 3DownNation. While the NFL has been growing more popular in Canada, and the CFL pales in comparison based on revenue and licensing, the Canadian game does have a passionate fan base in that country.

Other Plans Involving BetRegal And The Canadian Football League

A pair of popular Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks, Damon Allen and Matt Dunigan, will serve on BetRegal Legends, an ambassador program by BetRegal that will get exposure through the new partnership with the CFL.

According to the CFL and BetRegal, future endeavors between the two may include a free-to-play sportsbook dubbed CFL squares, and a game called Race to the 108th Grey Cup, which will enable fans to pick winners and predict scores to win prizes. The league and their new gaming partner will also launch a community-focused initiative to spotlight citizens who have contributed greatly in the last year-plus during the COVID-19 crisis.

The CFL 2021 season begins on Thursday as defending Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg plays host to Hamilton in a rematch of last season’s championship game.
