FanDuel Increases Kentucky Derby Coverage, Offers Odds via Sportsbook

Like horses bumping their way into the final stretch, FanDuel is helping online horse race betting and other sports betting collide through an unprecedented new offering.

In time for the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby next month, for the first time ever, sports bettors can place wagers on the race from inside the same app using the same wallet they use to bet on other sporting events.

To celebrate this exclusive betting convenience, FanDuel Racing app and FanDuel Sportsbook are offering a “$20 No Sweat Bet” promo on the Kentucky Derby, which is being run May 4 at Churchill Downs.

FanDuel is the first sports betting operator to offer horse race odds within its sportsbook app itself. Typically, due to regulations and operational factors for horse racing, the sport is offered via a standalone horse racing app.

In a press statement released Monday, FanDuel announced it will also provide additional coverage of the Kentucky Derby via its channel called FanDuel TV. This will be programming unavailable from the NBC Sports broadcast.

Horse race betting is now available from within FanDuel Sportsbook AND FanDuel Racing app in these states: Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

FanDuel TV and the 2024 Kentucky Derby

Through its two channels, FanDuel TV and FanDuel TV+, the sports betting company has produced engaging programming for race fans for some time. But in 2024, for the first time, FanDuel TV will broadcast lead-in races to the Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs. Fans will also be able to view horse workouts in the days before the Triple Crown race.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our loyal audience live racing and unprecedented access during Derby Week on FanDuel TV,” said Executive Producer and Sr. Vice-President of FanDuel TV, Kevin Grigsby. “We thank Churchill Downs Inc. for our partnership. There is no bigger event in horse racing than the Kentucky Derby and FanDuel TV will be there for every step of the action.”
