FanDuel is set to appoint Christian Genetski as its permanent CEO effective Jan. 1, according to Front Office Sports.
Genetski has served as interim CEO since May, following Amy Howe’s departure. Flutter CEO Dan Taylor communicated the appointment in an email to employees.
A company representative declined to comment.
Genetski Brings Nearly 12 Years at FanDuel
Genetski’s previous roles include chief commercial officer and chief legal officer. He has been with the company for nearly 12 years.
“Christian has done a fantastic job leading FanDuel on an interim basis,” Taylor wrote, according to Front Office Sports.
Taylor also emphasized continuity in the employee email: “Making the appointment permanent gives FanDuel continuity at an important point in its growth and means the team can keep building on the progress already made.”
The appointment follows a leadership change at parent company Flutter. Taylor became Flutter’s CEO on Oct. 1 after Peter Jackson stepped down.
Prediction Markets Face Competitive and Legal Pressure
FanDuel launched its prediction market platform late last year in response to competition from Kalshi and Polymarket.
Last week, the company stopped allowing Utah users of FanDuel Predicts to trade sports, politics and novelty event contracts. That followed Utah’s filing of felony criminal charges against Kalshi.
Flutter’s third-quarter earnings are scheduled for release Wednesday.
