BetMGM recently premiered the first of a three-part teaser campaign, promoting its first-ever Big Game television spot. The teaser features the pairing of NFL superstar Tom Brady and Canadian Ice Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, joined by actor Vince Vaughn.
In the weeks leading up to Feb. 11, the day of the Super Bowl, BetMGM will hold multiple events and promotions, including the BetMGM Big Game Bash at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, with Luke Combs as the headlining act. To further boost attention to its brand, tickets to the concert have been made available exclusively on the BetMGM app.
BetMGM sportsbooks will also be home to a range of VIP experiences led by notable ambassadors, sweepstakes, and interactive fans for football fans around the country, including those in attendance in Las Vegas.
“This year’s Big Game is our moment to put BetMGM front and center of the largest audience in sports,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer. “Our first-ever Big Game commercial showcases Las Vegas as a home for the game as well as what we consider to be BetMGM’s home. We couldn’t be happier with the talent we have assembled for the ad and the connection they have to our brand.”
In the campaign’s first video, Vince Vaughn can be seen inviting players to join BetMGM for the big game while nudging Tom Brady out of the frame. Brady says, “This feels personal,” before the teaser abruptly ends.
The teasers provide a peek into BetMGM’s plans to entertain big-game fans. Created in partnership with agency Highdive, the three superstars appear set to entertain fans with humor in the days leading up to the Big Game. Highdive is a three-time USA Admeter winner, making it an industry leader in creating Big Game campaigns.
BetMGM Commercial To Rival FanDuel’s Kick Of Destiny
While the rest of the details surrounding the BetMGM commercial remain uncertain, FanDuel has already unveiled its plans to revive the Kick Of Destiny storyline for the 2024 Super Bowl. The commercial features Tom Brady’s former teammate and long-time friend Rob Gronkowski.
“I can’t lie, when I missed the Kick of Destiny during last year’s Super Bowl, it was devastating. I told the team at FanDuel I knew I could do better and needed a shot at redemption this year,” says Rob Gronkowski in the commercial. “I’m going to show America I can make that kick, even with all the pressure of doing it live in front of the entire country. No wind is going to stop me, and we’re going through the uprights this year for everyone who picks that I’m going to make the kick.”
Despite being associated with different sportsbooks, fans are in for a treat as the two NFL legends star in different commercials for the Super Bowl. The FanDuel commercial also features John Cena, who is excited to play the role of the antagonist.
The campaign aims to promote its new Make or Miss free pick function while drawing parallels with Rob’s desire to redeem himself after he failed to land the Kick of Destiny in 2023. Fans can win a share of a $10 million bonus bet prize pool by betting on whether they think Gronkowski will be successful.
