This month, the American Cornhole League has announced that DraftKings is their “official sports betting partner.” Bettors in select areas will be able to place wagers on the 2021 ACL Cornhole Mania, to be held on March 19-20.
DraftKings is the first sports betting operator to partner with the sport of cornhole, which is fast-growing in the United States.
“First and foremost this is another way for our fans to experience and access the game and we’re very much looking forward to how our partnership with DraftKings will help enhance their enjoyment of the sport,” said Stacey Moore, Commissioner, and Founder of the American Cornhole League.
In many parts of the US, cornhole is a fast-growing participation sport, attracting thousands of new players to local tournaments. That excitement around this growing sport has naturally led to interest in tournament play and the ACL.
“As we’ve learned in the past year, fandom is not limited solely to mainstream sports, and the tremendous growth of the ACL underscores these new engagement possibilities,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings.
“The popularity of cornhole has skyrocketed in general, and there is a real draw for fans to see the best in the world compete, so we’re adding yet another dimension to the enjoyment of cornhole through odds and pools.”
The ACL has an established partnership with Johnsonville, which sponsors the American Championship Series. Currently there are more than 400 directors managing ACL sanctioned events across the country each year. The ACL has established the rules and regulations to govern the sport and equipment.
How You Can Bet On Cornhole
For the ACL event in Wichita, Kansas, beginning March 19th, fans will be able to place bets via DraftKings in Colorado, Illinois, and New Hampshire.
NCAA Basketball won’t be the only fun bracket-filling entertainment in March: fans around the country will be able to enter a free-to-play pool for the March 19th American Cornhole League event. The event, which runs two days over the weekend, will be shown on ESPN3 and ESPN2.
Their partnership with the American Cornhole League is the latest example of actions by DraftKings to expand their sportsbook offerings into burgeoning sports markets.
