Daily Fantasy Sports operator PrizePicks announced two significant hires today. The company appointed Renee White to the role of Chief People Officer. Meanwhile, Phil Sherwood was appointed as Senior Director of Responsible Gaming.
“Renee and Phil bring invaluable experience that will accelerate our growth as a company,” said PrizePicks Co-founder & CEO Adam Wexler. “Renee’s storied career as a people leader and her ties to the Atlanta community cannot be understated; having her join us at such a crucial phase for the company is pivotal. Combined with Phil expanding upon our responsible gaming initiatives, I’m excited to see both play a role in ensuring our business continues to prioritize its two most valued assets: our people and our players.”
About the new PrizePicks hires
Renee White comes to PrizePicks on the heels of a colorful career in the entertainment space. White spent nearly 20 years at Warner Bros. Discovery in numerous roles. Most recently, she was the Head of People & Culture for Turner Sports, Bleacher Report, and Turner Studios. White will be based in Atlanta and is now a vital member of the PrizePicks executive team.
Phil Sherwood will spearhead PrizePicks’ responsible gaming programs to keep the DFS experience safe and secure for players. Sherwood comes to PrizePicks after a stint at the Massachusets Council on Gaming and Health, where he served as Chief Communications Officer. Sherwood led initiatives such as the state’s self-exclusion program and a 24/7 live chat platform during his time there.
Before joining the MACGH, Sherwood was the President of the Board of Directors for the National Council on Problem Gambling.

DFS and sports betting companies are starting to hire dedicated professionals to run responsible gaming initiatives. PrizePicks is the latest in a line of hires.
Earlier this week, DraftKings appointed Lori Kalani to the role of Chief Responsible Gaming Officer. These hires and others spotlight the increasing importance of responsible gambling.
