BetMGM has been named exclusive Sports Betting Partner of The Hockey News, the leading print publication that focuses on the sport.

The new partnership between BetMGM and The Hockey News is a multi-year deal that will enable both parties to collaborate to produce and publish exclusive hockey content. BetMGM will provide betting analysis from their sportsbook for multiple media channels operated by The Hockey News.

The Hockey News publishes a magazine at least six times a year, operates a popular YouTube channel with exclusive video content from their journalists, runs a podcast network, and has a website with content behind a subscription wall.

BetMGM will share the collaborative content from The Hockey News on the BetMGM sportsbook app, available on iOS and Android platforms.

“The Hockey News has long been the trusted leader among hockey fans for the best news and analysis. They’re an ideal partner for BetMGM to reach one of the most passionate and knowledgeable fan bases in all of sports,” said BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost in a press release on June 3.

BetMGM And Hockey

BetMGM has continued to penetrate new markets, including ambitious efforts to expand the profile of hockey as an attractive sport for gamblers. In 2020, MGM Resorts was named an official gaming partner of the National Hockey League, and BetMGM has betting partnerships with the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Vegas Golden Knights, and Washington Capitals.

Earlier this week, BetMGM announced that hockey legend Wayne Gretzky would serve as their brand ambassador.

Canada is currently considering legislation to legalize sports betting both in retail and for online purposes, a move that would inject a surge of interest in the sport.
