Former Super Bowl Champion Drew Brees Joins PointsBet

From one team to another: former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has joined PointsBet as a brand ambassador. This comes less than a year after the former Super Bowl champion signal-caller retired following twenty seasons in the NFL.

Notably, in addition to his duties as an ambassador for PointsBet, it was announced today that Brees has also become a “significant” shareholder in the company. Brees follows

Brees found the end zone more than any other passer in NFL history. He is also the career leader in pass completions, career completion percentage by a quarterback, and regular-season yards through the air. He guided the Saints to victory in Super Bowl XLIV, and he is an icon in the city where he played 15 seasons.

Brees To Begin NBC Sports Career This Fall

As a result of the deal with PointsBet, Brees will be seen even more on television and online. The network has hired the recently-retired Brees as a game analyst, and NBC Sports and on-air talent supplies PointsBet with multi-platform media. In his roles for both NBC Sports and PointsBet, Brees will have many opportunities to offer his football expertise.

Brees is the latest athlete to join PointsBet as a brand ambassador. Previously, former NBA MVP Shaquille O’Neal and golfer Paige Spiranac were named in similar deals. PointsBet operates online sportsbooks in six states: Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and New Jersey.

Louisiana Sports Betting

Though Drew Brees is a household name among even casual NFL fans, the legendary quarterback is known best in New Orleans. With Louisiana sports betting on the way, PointsBet’s deal with Brees presents a unique opportunity. The Bayou State is poised to be a large market, and with Drew Brees in its back pocket, pointsBet could become an early leader once online sports betting goes live in the state.
