Fubo Gaming has entered an agreement with the owners of Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia and Live! Casino Pittsburgh for a future launch of an online sportsbook in Pennsylvania. The deal also calls for a potential online casino app from Fubo, pending regulatory approval by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Pennsylvania would be the fourth state where Fubo has an online gaming and/or sportsbook agreement, joining Indiana, Iowa, and New Jersey. Thus far, Fubu has not yet received approval from governing bodies in those states or hasn’t launched its sportsbook apps as of yet.
Fubo Will Enhance Streaming Services With Sports Betting Content
Fubo Gaming is a division of fuboTV Inc., a New York-based media streaming company that specializes in broadcasting sports content, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, and international sporting events. They currently have broadcast agreements with the Phillies, 76ers, Flyers, Pirates, and Penguins.
The Fubo Sportsbook app is anticipated for a fall launch in 2021, in time for the beginning of the NFL season. Select game broadcast coverage and betting odds and analysis will be available on the app and streaming fuboTV platform.
“With our sportsbook, we’re looking forward to delivering a comprehensive sports entertainment experience that combines live streaming and wagering,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of fuboTV. “We expect to launch Fubo Sportsbook in the fourth quarter of this year pending regulatory approvals.”
Both the Live! Casino Hotel in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are owned by The Cordish Company, which also owns and operates the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, and Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, and other resorts and properties. The agreement with Fubo Gaming is the first online gaming or sportsbook deal entered into by The Cordish Company in Pennsylvania, which welcomed its’ first online sportsbook in 2019.
In January, Pennsylvania topped the $600 million mark in monthly betting handle, and the state has climbed to become the No. 2 online sports betting market in the US.
