If a strong, unique presence was what they were looking for, WynnBET found it in their new brand ambassador, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The company announced today that the 15-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion will join their brand to provide his expertise to the WynnBET mobile sports betting app.

“Mobile sports betting is having a major moment, and I believe that WynnBET will be a powerful force in the industry,” O’Neal said in a statement announcing the long-term deal.

A popular presence on the NBA on TNT studio show, O’Neal will lend his giant stature to WynnBET’s advertising campaigns on television, digital, and print. With his signature smile and gravelly voice, O’Neal will also make public appearances for WynnBET to promote their products and events. The 2016 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee will also create original content for WynnBET. The company also revealed that Shaq will debut a Free To Play (FTP) game called ShaqPot for the WynnBET app in the near future.

Shaquille O’Neal: The Businessman

After a 19-year NBA career in which he won three NBA Finals MVPs and one regular-season NBA MVP award, O’Neal transitioned into a career as a businessman. Even prior to his retirement as a player, O’Neal fostered his image and branding with appearances in movies, on TV, in video games, and as a rap and music performer. He also launched his own shoe company and snack and beverage company. In his years since retirement, O’Neal’s profile has risen due to his presence as a foil to Charles Barkley on NBA on TNT, a ratings giant for the network and one of the most popular studio sports talk shows in history.

O’Neal has investments in real estate, the eGaming and technology markets, as well as being a member of the board of directors for Papa John’s pizza. As part of his agreement with WynnBET, and to comply with NBA regulations, O’Neal will be required to sell his ownership stake in the Sacramento Kings.
